On July 15th Trent Klatt will be joining us!
Trent is a 1989 graduate of Osseo High School. He was drafted by the Washington Capitals of the NHL in June of 1989. From there, he went on to play hockey at the University of Minnesota. His NHL career expanded 12 seasons, and after serving as an Executive Committee Member for the NHLPA and working through the labor negotiations that halted the 2004/2005 NHL season, Trent retired from the NHL as a player in September of 2005. In 2008 he was hired by the New York Islanders as an amateur scout. He has held different positions over the last 11 years as a scout and is currently the Director of Amateur Scouting. In addition to scouting, he also coached the Grand Rapids High School Hockey Team for two years. In the 2015/2016 season Grand Rapids took 3rd place in the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. In the 2016/2017 season, Grand Rapids was able to win their 4th State High School Hockey Tournament. Although he has had many accomplishments while coaching or playing hockey, he remains steadfast and lockstep with his wife Kelly of 25 years and their 5 children.
